A few useful answers

PyPI stats,
explained.

How do I check PyPI stats for a Python package?

Enter the exact PyPI package name, such as requests, numpy, or pandas, and select Check stats. The checker shows downloads for the latest available complete day and the 7-day and 30-day windows ending on that day. Open the full statistics to explore download trends and package versions.

Is this PyPI stats checker free? Do I need an account?

The checker is free and requires no signup or API key. You can look up a package and view its public download statistics immediately. Advanced features in pepy may require a paid plan.

Where do the PyPI download statistics come from?

pepy uses download data from official PyPI. The result shows the last available data date. Counts can lag behind today, and missing dates are identified rather than presented as zero downloads.

Do PyPI downloads tell me how many people use a package?

Downloads measure download events, not unique people or active users. Automated builds, dependency installs, and repeated downloads can increase counts. Use PyPI stats to understand download activity alongside release history, documentation, and project maintenance.

Why can’t I find my package?

Use the distribution name on PyPI, which may differ from its Python import name. Names are case-insensitive, and dots, underscores, and hyphens are normalized. A new package may not have download data yet; check the spelling or try again after data becomes available.
